The independent Mastdata app collects and collates your chosen networks signal strength as you move, with the aim of building a complete picture of UK coverage. We are looking to provide a comprehensive coverage map powered by our Mastdata Android app. To achieve this all signal coverage, four surveys, one for each network – O2, Vodafone, EE and Three – need to be carried out.

If you cannot see coverage results where you are then you can be the first to survey that area. Open the App, start the survey with a touch, put the phone away and let the phone work for you. The App collects and collates your chosen networks signal strength as you move. Your specific journey data remains private to you whilst the signal survey contributes to the UK coverage map which is then available to all users.

Coverage Map

What are the benefits for me?

  • Identify the reason why a signal is poor in their area or at certain points on a daily commute
  • View potential coverage in a new area if attending/staying at university or looking to move home or office.
  • Identify a suitable alternative where fibre broadband is not available.
  • Make a calculated choice of the best network for you based on independent coverage results.
  • View potential coverage for future outdoor events/activities.
  • Have peace of mind for potential journeys/stays.
  • Decide on a possible change of sim card (or take a reserve) for planned overnight destinations if research shows your primary networks coverage will be poor.

Please see our Q & A section for further clarification and frequently asked questions. Please also see our case studies page from current users. If you have a question that has not been answered there (or ant feedback) then please email admin@mastdata.com

Caravan and Campsites in the UK

Do you enjoy caravanning and camping?

The joy of getting away from it all is getting away from it all but it’s almost impossible to not require some kind of technology at some point during your travels. Knowing that there is signal available (should you need it) can also provide peace of mind. With the Mastdata Android App you can see how the coverage looks (across the 4 networks) at planned destinations.

  • Q - What if my current networks coverage does not look very good at my planned destination?
A - Being aware of this before you arrive will allow you the option of purchasing a temporary sim on a stronger network. It will also allow you to choose alternative destinations should you need to be connected at all times on your current network and number.
  • Q - Not all of the area seems to be covered and I’d like that information to be available to me or other visitors for their visits/stays?
A - You can survey the area whilst you are there. Open the App, start the survey with a touch, put the phone away and let the phone work for you whilst you sit, stroll and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

Lorry and Haulage Drivers

  • As a long distance lorry driver I could be parked up for 9 to 24 hours at a time, this app has helped me pick out certain hotspots of where to park and where not to park..... Great coverage up on windy hill, but still working on the Met Office to sort that wind out.
